York Art Gallery
Centre of Ceramic Art (CoCA)

The “Centre of Ceramic Art (CoCA)” – exhibition is housed in two newly designed rooms within the York Art Gallery – the Mezzanine Level in the Victorian style attic, as well as a new building above Madsen Gallery. Together these two rooms create an exhibition area of 450 m².

In two successive phases REIER delivered 10 freestanding display cases with pull-and-slide doors, extra white security glass, passive environmental control as well as LED lighting for the Mezzanine Level.

Moreover, a 17 meters long Spectaklar™ display case front consisting of ready-made glass panels with matching sealing and fastening technology has been installed into a wall niche in the new building. Seven panels designed as hinged doors with changeable stop as well as six fixed panels allow an easy access to objects and protect them against environmental influences.
