Posner Center for Special Collections

The Posner Center is home to Carnegie Mellon University’s Special Collections. Part museum and part laboratory for the humanities, it is CMU’s destination for discovery, research, and hands-on engagement with the past.

A particular treasure is the Posner Memorial Collection, featuring outstanding works from the history of science – including writings by Isaac Newton, Galileo Galilei, Marie Curie, Charles Darwin and Albert Einstein. It also houses one of only five surviving copies of the first official print of the US Bill of Rights.

For these valuable holdings, REIER produced two table display cases with hydraulic lifting system, LED light tubes and passive climate control, as well as a wall-mounted display case with two glass fronts, glass shelves and REIER LED spot lighting.

The display cases combine conservation protection with elegant presentation, bringing history to life in a safe, clear and impressive way.
