Geneva

Geneva‘s Ethnography Museum (MEG) houses some 80,000 objects and 300,000 books, graphics, films and audio documents, representing one of the largest ethnological col-lections in Switzerland. The substantial stock of components, a collection of several centuries of collector‘s activities, is divided into five geographic departments: Africa, America, Asia, Europe and Oceania. A highly renowned department for music ethnology is there as well.

The permanent exhibition, located in a new annex building, received REIER-made equipment. Besides the numerous colour-coded large display cases, representing the five continents, a 15m-long central display case table with Corian cladding houses an impressive assortment of selected exhibits which are perfectly protected by glass hoods. A shielded area of the musical-ethnological department exhibits audio recordings and films.
